Henbury/Brentry Projects funded by Community First

The following community groups have been approved for Community First funding:

Year 1: 2011/2012  Total allocation: £5,624

  • Henbury and Brentry Community Council – to set up two community notice boards: £2,000
  • Henbury Football Club – to create a separate changing/shower room for female officials: £2,500
  • Henbury & Brentry Youth Forum – to support the 2012 Talent show for young people, building on success of the 2011 show: £544
  • Henbury & Brentry Youth Forum – to support the BMX competition to attract young people to the 2012 Funday: £310
  • Henbury & Brentry Girls Group – to fund the Costume-making/mask-making stand at the 2012 Funday: £270

Year 2: 2012/2013  Total allocation: £8,489

  • Henbury Youth Project, Emmanuel Chapel – updating equipment to support the youth space for 7-11 year olds during term time: £600
  • Henbury and Brentry Community Council –  supporting Christmas hampers for elderly residents of our Community: £1,300
  • Henbury Football Club – install vinyl floor covering throughout the clubhouse: £2,500 
  • WISH – Henbury Extend Group, weekly hour of gentle exercise and stretching, aimed at elderly/less mobile people: £585.81
  • HAPPY – support for half term forest school days: £800
  • New Kingsland United Reformed Church, Henbury – to support Henbury Orchard Garden Project engaging the Conservation Volunteers to provide plans and expertise, engage and coordinate volunteer and manage the development of the project: £2,500
  • Henbury and Brentry Community Council – food/refreshment costs for 2013 Community Conference: £203
