Christmas Crackers – Dec 12th 2013

In contrast to the previous year,  2012, Wednesday December 12th 2013 was dry all day and after the morning mist cleared was fine and clear for the preparation for and start of the event.

Soon the “snow” began to fall and the Henbury School band enlivened the beginning of the event with a enjoyable recital  while a long queue of excited children formed waiting for Father Christmas.  He greeted each and every child and his helpers made sure each went away with presents.

A large group of children from Henbury Court school assembled and gave very nice rendering of favourite carols for the later part of Father Christmas’s distribution.

A number of suited helpers and others gave those attending the opportunity of supporting the Elderly of Brentry and Henbury and the fine total of £40.37 was raised . Many thanks to everyone who supported the event, which was widely considered ‘a real vintage Crackers’
